Wednesday Night 4/2 - Thursday 4/3

Well I guess I could actually start on Wednesday but I didn't do anything particularly exciting besides having a chocolate muffin that looked more like a cupcake and went out to the pub with Mikaela, Reilly, Carly, Jackie, Alvin, Michael, Noah, and Jake. We went to Far From the Matting Crowd...it wasn't a very good pub. We explored parts of Oxford we hadn't seen before. Mikaela and I split some chips (French fries) from a food truck and went home.

Thursday 4/3
We ( Jake and I) got up early and got ready to head out to York. Nicole met us in front of our house and the three of us set off for the train station. We took the train into York which was quite the experience, as to my knowledge I hadn't been on a train before, besides at like Disneyland. It went smoothly but Jake, Michael, Reilly, Carly, and I had to sit in another car which was no problem until the train started to go backwards. We thought we were headed north towards York but...I guess not? I mean we still got there but we just got a little nervous that we had missed our stop.

When we got there we had a couple of free hours and went to the Farmer's Market. I had a pulled pork sandwich which I was really disappointed in then I got a Nutella crepe (good), then a cherry and yogurt licorice strand which was easily a foot (not so good), and a double chocolate cookie (great). I was pretty full an was sure that I was going to have a sugar high later on. Also Michael and Jake had an interesting dinner. Michael got a kangaroo hamburger which I tried. It was pretty good it was just like a beef burger but sweet. Jake got a wild boar burger which I liked better.

I met up with Reilly, Mikaela, Marissa, and Carly (Whom I am just going to refer to as the girls from now on) and we hung out in my hotel room along with Jake and Michael before going on the Ghost Tour.

The Ghost Tour really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Our guide looked like someone straight out of an Edgar Allen Poe story, he wore a three piece suit with coat tails that reached down to halfway down his legs, his vest only was buttoned up half way of the way and even with that some of the buttons were missing. He had long black and gray hair that was thinning (For he was about in his sixties) that reached a little passed his shoulders and talked with a weathered voice that told the stories with a tone that showed how he believed in each story. He just told us creepy stories about history in York and ghosts that haunt the various buildings we passed. The final area was in a dark alleyway next to the debatably most haunted building in York which turns out to be the most haunted pub in York, The Golden Fleece.. I thought someone was going to pop out at us but no the tour ended with our guide becoming "scared" and running away from us screaming down the alleyway.

Most of us went out to a pizza place after. I split a margherita pizza with Mikaela which was pretty good. We all went back to the hotel and the girls hung out with Jake, Michael, and I in our room until we were all tired.
